#TBT: A Tamagotchi was the only pet you were actually allowed to have in the '90s

Rill Causey & Sam Reichman 23 minutes ago

Japan introduced the Tamagotchi to the U.S. in 1996 and it instantly became a crazy ‘90s fad. Though you had to wait for like five minutes for it to hatch, once it did you could feed it and play with it just like a real pet. If you left it alone, it would poop a lot and die. Thanks to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s matching Tamagotchis at the 2016 Met Gala, they could even be making a comeback.
Check back each Thursday as we explore another piece of #ThrowbackTech for a whole new take on #TBT!
